A self sculpt in Zbrush

So, I wanted to see if I could self-sculpt.  In other words, create a Zbrush version of myself.
Temporarily using this as my Facebook profile pic. Hopefully it won't scare off all the ladies.  But then again, they're already my friends.  Heh heh.

Red Sonja...or...at the moment, black and white Sonja

So, I wanted to create some more characters in Photoshop.  I chose Red Sonja.

I have yet to put in any colors yet, as I wanted to get the values correct first.  So, at the moment, this is Black and White Sonja.

Recently I've been reading about Genghis Khan on my Nook Color.  The whole warrior mentality is pretty fascinating to me.  It is said that given their nomadic nature (due to the cold climate, they were keepers of livestock and not farmers), the Mongol warriors were better at conquering than actually ruling, which was one of the reasons why much of the actual political duties were given to politicians and educated people they conquered.  To rule a land, one has to stay in one place, generally.

"Mr. Anderson!"

So I decided to sculpt Agent Smith in Zbrush. Admittedly, very few people in the world actually look like Hugo Weaving.

Agent Smith is as iconic as it gets when it comes to this genre.

"You hear that Mr. Anderson?... That is the sound of inevitability..."

It's not the dialogue,  tt's all in the delivery.  Or, perhaps as Jack Burton would say, "It's all in the reflexes."

Classic.

So, I decided to start a blog here.

I have like three blogs.  An old one on Xanga, which I haven't updated in a while, another one I used for my personal website, and this one.  Given that blogger.com is much easier to manage, I'll probably just use this one for my updates... and this will probably replace my personal one. Since I also have a Deviantart.com account, I probably should make use of that too.  Generally, it's perhaps best for me to use these kinds of sites as I won't have to use HTML as much.  Quickie updates are good.  Here's an image I did a while ago.  Mr.T motivates me.

Comikaze 2011 at LA Convention Center.

Most recently, just this past weekend, I checked out Comikaze, a comic convention in LA.  Much cheaper than San Diego Comic Con.  $12 per day.  Sweet deal.  I got in for free because I happened to have an industry pass.  I write for Examiner.com on the side, which helped me get in, provided I wrote something about the event beforehand.  Here's my article.

Zbrush class at Gnomon School of Special Effects.

So, I'm taking a class at Gnomon School of Special Effects in LA.  This was a creature I made for the previous class I took.  Currently, I'm taking a Character Zbrush class.  I'll start posting my work from the class as time permits.

Publishing my Ecomic on the Nook!

Another thing I recently got into is looking at the potential of Ebook publishing.  So, I published my first epub book for the Nook.  Ecomic, in fact.  It's called Out of Order.  Check it out! It's only a dolla!
